Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

California law, and similar laws in other states, give you the right to tell a business not to sell or share your personal information. This page explains our practices and how to make a request.

We do not sell or share your personal information

Solar & Battery Guide does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA). In the past 12 months we have not sold or shared personal information, including information about readers under 16.

Specifically:

• We do not sell or pass contact form or newsletter details to installers, lenders or data brokers.
• We take no referral or lead fees.
• We run no advertising, retargeting or social media tracking pixels.
• No analytics service is active on the site, and any future analytics will load only after you consent.
• Our calculators run in your browser and send none of your inputs to us.

The only parties that process personal information for us are service providers that help run the site, such as our host, Cloudflare, and the email services we use to receive messages and send the newsletter. They process it on our behalf, not for their own advertising.

Global Privacy Control

We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for that browser, with no need to contact us. Because we do not sell or share personal information today, the signal does not change anything you see on the site. If we ever add analytics or advertising that could count as sharing, a GPC signal will automatically be applied as an opt-out.

How to make an opt-out request anyway

You may still send us a formal opt-out request, and we will record it so it stays in effect if our practices ever change.

2. Include the email address you have used with us, if any, so we can link the request to your records.
3. We will confirm receipt and process the request within 15 business days, as California regulations require for opt-outs.

You do not need to create an account, and we will not ask for more information than we need. An authorized agent can submit a request for you with your signed permission.

Your other privacy rights

Depending on your state, you may also have the right to know, access, correct and delete personal information we hold, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CCPA. You will not be treated differently for using any of these rights. Our privacy policy explains these rights and how to use them, and our cookie policy lists the essential browser storage the site uses.

If our practices change

If we ever plan to start any activity that counts as selling or sharing, we will update this page and our privacy policy first, give notice on the site, and continue to honor every opt-out request and GPC signal we receive.
